Simple Story, Important Message
I came across this book at a children playgroup. A simple story which beautifully illustrates to kids how everyone posses special ability even when it is not apparent. I think this book may be especially good for children who have low self-esteem or lack self-confidence.

Cinema and History (Contemporary Film Studies)
Published in Hardcover by Wayne State Univ Pr (July, 1988)
Authors: Marc Ferro and Naomi Greene

Behind the cameras !
In the past, History used to be very boring: You had to study only the 'great facts' of the 'great kings or presidents' and besides that, to memorize a lot of dates, names and places. And the only valuable documents to study were the called 'official documents'. Fortunately, it changed. Today History and historians discovered another way to do that: We don't have to stay looking only for the 'official documents' anymore ! Today historians could research in different ways; They learned that not only those documents are the important ones but that other things or writings could be exellent objects of study and we won't be obligate to listen only the 'history of kings' anymore ! Among these new objects of study is the cinema with her movies and Marc Ferro is a pionner on studing the cinema as an object or 'document' for the historian's work. There in the book you will learn that the cinema is much more than the explicit things you see on the screen; it's politic, social and mental life and more important, it's History and it also made history ! As a History student (almost an historian), I truly recommend this book for the History or Cinema lovers. You won't see a movie the way you use to see it anymore !

Coach Yourself: Make Real Change in Your Life
Published in Paperback by Perseus Publishing (18 March, 2003)
Authors: Tony Grant, Anthony Grant, and Jane Greene
Average review score:

Practical, sound, inspiring.
This book is a great read and it does what it says. It helps you to see things in perspective and make real, positive change. The steps are easy to understand and practical but it also seems to be well researched and backed up with sound psychological theory. I would also recommend it to anyone working as a business or life coach as I think it explains the fundamentals very well.

Considerations on the Assassination of Gérard Lebovici
Published in Paperback by TamTam Books (21 December, 2001)
Authors: Guy Debord and Robert Greene
Average review score:

Blurb from Richard Hell
"It cannot be said too often and it's never said enough that the mass news-media have low-to-no standards of accuracy, whether in relatively minor or peripheral areas of their reporting where their interests may not be obviously at stake (except in that it's in their interest not to go to the expense of bothering to check facts, and to conceal this) or in the larger matters where their prejudices are more apparent. And, as the media leaders know, since almost all news becomes "old" the moment it's broadcast, most victims of their misrepresentations are at a disadvantage not only because of a power mismatch, but because a protester looks like a fool to be challenging yesterday's papers. But the consequences of the media's irresponsibility and maliciousness are real to their victims. Guy Debord finally had to react. A rare and nice touch is where he mentions that he actually has no higher opinion of the consumers of the media than he does of the disseminators of it. Heh heh.

The tract is full of these sudden sharp insights into Debord. It's great as well for its evocation of the whole intense time and place (Paris art/life radicalism, 1957-84)."

Count on Golf
Published in Hardcover by Excel Publishing (December, 1998)
Authors: Susan Greene and Margaret L. Rose
Average review score:

Do you want your child to love golf as much as you do?
I bought this book a few years ago for my daughter and it has become a family favorite. The book helps children learn to count in a fun way all the while teaching them the terms of golf. The pages count from one to ten from tees to irons all with wonderful pictures. This book makes a great gift. Also, recommend The ABC's of golf also by Greene. A great way to interest children at a young age to the game of golf.

Crisis of the 17th Century: Religion, the Reformation, and Social Change
Published in Hardcover by Liberty Fund, Inc. (April, 2001)
Authors: Donald Johnson Greene, Samuel Johnson, and H. R. Trevor-Roper
Average review score:

Why did the witch trials stop?
Fascinating history of the witch trials from their beginning in the hands of two monks trying to 'civilize' relatively pagan regions like the Alps and Pyrenees until their peak at the time of the deaths of Galileo, Descartes, and Kepler, and the birth of Newton. One learns that the Swedish Cristina, who attracted Descartes to Stockholm as her philosophy teacher, put the end to the witch trials there, after her father had contributed to the world the Thirty Years War. A good starter for anyone interested in the intermittent decline of the influence of religion in the west as the enlightenment caught steam.
